The region of the Waldecker Land and Northern Hesse, the land of the brothers Grimm, can best be explored by electric bike

Apart from walking, biking is an extremely popular leisure activity, both in daily life as during holidays, including in the Waldecker Land, the very holiday region of Hesse.

The new trend in biking is... the electric bike, also called the ‘pedelec’, which is short for Pedal Electric Cycle. Behind this name there is an electric transmission that increases the transmission of the Pedelec’s roller chain as the biker pushes the pedals more strongly.

With its sophisticated electronics, the ‘movelo Swiss Flyer’ makes biking sheer pleasure. In every situation it recognises how fiercely the user pushes the pedals and with its clean and light electric engine, supports him precisely to his wishes.  

Operating a pedelec is just as simple as using it: rent it, step onto it and just ride it! Effortlessly you ride off, cheerfully climbing every mountain and no head wind will take the smile off your face. There is no age limit to the electric movelo bike, or a complicated user manual. Finally, also elderly and completely untrained users, using their own force and individually supported by a sophisticated technology, now are able to experience the magnificent landscape of Northern Hesse, the land of the brothers Grimm and its many places of interest.

With a fully charged battery you can ride 25 to 40 km, depending on the engine support you chose and the type of landscape, so longer trips are possible too.
In the Waldecker Land there are 11 places where you can rent an electric bike and 5 where you can have the battery changed. The bicycles are as good as new and kept in excellent condition. Moreover, they are not expensive to rent (approx. €18.00 a day)
