The origins of this brewery building date back to the brewing and laundry house of the Antoine monastery. After the monastery was disbanded in 1526, the brewing operations were continued first by the count and then later by the prince. Since 1891 the private brewery Brüne has run the operation and also a restaurant and hotel on the site.

The Brewery Bad Wildungen is situated in the middle of the forest, at the end of the health and bathing town of Bad Wildungen. It used to be called the Waldhaus (house in the woods). In 1991 the brewery was renovated and expanded. It is one of the smallest commercial brewers in Germany.
