Nordic Walking trails in Willingen-Usseln
The Tourist Information is the starting point for all routes.
Nordic Walking Route 73 – 10.3 km (Hoher Pön)
Through the Sportstraße, past the outdoor swimming pool and past the ‘Emmet’ holiday villas, then across the spruce and beech forest to the pretty road around the Hoher Pön, and back along the origin of the river Diemel to Usseln. With its peak at 793 m, the Hoher Pön is the highest point in the Usseln area and it attracts many nature lovers.
Kahler Pön – circular trail 74 – 10.4 km (Kahler Pön)
Start at the Tourist Information and take the Sportstraße in the direction of the origin of the river Diemel. Cross the Titmaringhäuserstraße and climb up to the barbecue area, uphill to the cross on top of the ‘Kahler Pön’- 764 m. Here you will have a fantastic view of Usseln. After the high-altitude moorlands, in the direction of ‘Auf dem Knoll’ and the source of the river Diemel, which, after approx. 500 m, you will see at your right hand side. Then take your time to return to Usseln.
Nordic Walking Route 75 – 9.3 km (Osterkopf)
From the starting point you go to the Wilke-Mühle, uphill across the ‘Sähre’ woodlands to the view point where you will have a wonderful view of Eimelrod and Hemminghausen. Then the connection will take you to the Osterkopf at 708 m, where you can admire rare high-altitude moorlands and a nature reserve. In autumn, the Diemeltal and the Osterkopf are in their best autumnal colours. Descent in the direction of Büllerhöhe, past the new cemetery and then return to the Tourist Information of Usseln.
