Downhill skiing
The Waldecker Upland offers the whole range of modern winter sports and more. No mass tourism, but rather a personal touch that puts the individual first, which winter guests are sure to appreciate.
Enjoy a race downhill on skis. You will discover demanding slopes for beginners, experienced skiers and snowboarders. Several lifts are available.
If there is not enough snow, the snow canons in Willingen ensure that your winter fun is not disturbed. You will also find various ski schools and winter sport shops.
And in any case, the best thing about winter sports is the “après ski”. However you decide to spend them, the evenings are nice and long for you to enjoy as you wish.
So fasten your skis!
In Willingen and the surrounding area you will find:
- 85 km of prepared slopes
- Germany’s most modern 8-person gondola cable car (1,400 m long)
- 12 ski lifts (200 – 1,400 m long)
- 25 slopes (five of which are lit)
- Differences in altitude of up to 240 m.
- 15 restaurants
- computer controlled payment and admission systems
- slope and piste maintenance with 6 modern piste caterpillars
- free parking direct near the slopes.
In the summer of 2007, in addition to the 8-person gondola cable cars, we installed a high-performance snow machine on the five larger slopes.
The lifts in the ski area are in operation from 08:00 to 17:00 or until it gets dark. The lit slopes are, when there is enough snow, open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 18:30 to 21:45.
