Haina
Along the southwestern slopes of Kellerwald Forest, you will find the greater community of Haina (Abbey), consisting of 12 communities with a population of 3,618 (as of June 2011), located in an excellent climate at the center of Kellerwald-Edersee National Park.
Special points of interest are the Zisterzienser Abbey and its large church built in Romanic and gothic style.
The communities of Battenhausen and Löhlbach are state-certified spas. At almost 500 meters above sea level, these are the highest elevations in Kellerwald Forest, providing excellent winter sport conditions.
Other communities, such as Altenhaina, Bockendorf, Dodenhausen, Haddenberg, Halgehausen, Hüttenrode, Mohnhausen, Oberholzhausen, Römershausen will primarily afford you peace and quiet.
