In the forest high above Willingen – in the center of the Diemelsee Nature Park – there is a game reserve where you can observe hoofed game (red, fallow and sika deer), exotic animals (Barbary macaques, parrots) as well as predatory animals (brown bears, wild cats).
There are daily (with the exception of February) informative demonstrations involving birds of prey under the guidance of a professional falconer.
The game reserve is open all year round, but there are no birds of prey demonstrations in February.

Daily from April to October (except on Thursdays)
at noon and 2 p.m. / New: owl show at 4:15 p.m.
Daily from November to March (except on Thursdays) at 1 p.m.
On the petting pasture it is possible to experience the animals up close. A tour of the forest educational trail informs you (by means of numerous educational boards) about the diversity of the forest.
Furthermore, there is a hunting museum with two aquariums for observing the underwater world of local fish. Other attractions at the Wildlife and Leisure Park Willingen at the Ettelsberg include ‘Dinoland’, a fairy-tale and gnome forest, rides, leisure equipment and changing programs.

Admission from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. (the park closes at 8 p.m.)
Winter season (November 1st – March 31st)
Admission from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (open until nightfall)
Directly at the entrance, there is a snack bar with an observation terrace at an elevation of 700 m, offering a magnificent view of Willingen. Also, a charcoal barbecue area for approx. 25 persons provides the opportunity for grilling your own food – or food provided by the snack bar.
