The Diemel Cycle Route

The Diemel Cycle Route accompanies the romantic river over a distance of approx. 110 km. This bike route, whose signpost symbol is an ammonite, leads from the spring of the Diemel river at an elevation of 660 m near Willingen via the idyllic Diemelsee Nature Park to its outlet into Weser River at Bad Karlshafen.

The easy to ride and well-developed Diemel Cycle Route runs from the heights of the Waldeck ‘Upland’ via the Diemelsee Nature Park and through undulating low-mountain ranges all the way to the ‘Reinhardswald’.

You should plan enough time for this diverse natural countryside, the friendly half-timbered villages as well as the beautiful small towns – because there is much to discover! It’s a comfortable ride almost without any large gradients and you will benefit from the continuous signposting marked with the striking ammonite.Give yourself a little time in this delightful river landscape.
