The Hiking Region / Hiking Trails
Densely overgrown woodlands and hills convey a feeling of authenticity that you may wish to explore – for example in the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park, the Diemelsee Nature Park or Hesse’s only national park, the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, which is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. A dense network of hiking trails facilitates your individual ventures into the region’s beautiful treasures.
In 2014, the ‘Sauerland Wanderdörfer’ was the first hiking region awarded the certificate ‘Quality Region - Hiking in Germany’.
