The funicular at the Edersee
Enjoy an unforgettable funicular ride up to the ‘Peterskopf’!
For those aiming high, the Edersee can make your wish come true! The upper basins of the power plant are a special attraction for tourists. Each year, tens of thousands of visitors enjoy the view from the storage basins on the ‘Peterskopf’. The power company Uniper maintains a modern funicular facility at the site of the power plant, conveniently transporting guests upwards – and downwards, too.
From the observation platform at the ‘Waldeck 2’ basin, you have a wonderful, unobstructed view over the ‘Waldecker Land’ and the Kellerwald National Park.
Directly at the funicular station, there is snack bar called ‘Der Waldbölker’, which offers indoor and outdoor seating for 60 guests each.
Cable Car to the ‘Peterskopf’ (april 17th - october 31th, 2019):
Tuesday – Sunday ascent every hour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday – Sunday descent every hour from 11:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
